You can possibly reduce the cost of your dental treatment even more by claiming treatments against Irish Income Tax. Since Hungary is now a full member of the EU, you can claim for tax relief in the same way as in Ireland. All you have to do is to complete a Med1 form at the end of the tax year. Bring a Med2-form with you to Budapest, have your dentist complete it when your treatment is finished and send it to your regional Revenue Office. These forms can be downloaded here. Additional savings for residents of European Union member states

Residents of member states of the European Union are entitled to undergo dental treatment in any other European member state (such as Hungary) and be compensated in part or in full for costs occurred, depending on the individual patient’s Social Insurance status and the arrangements specific to his or her home country.
