We at Ultimate Dental Travel are proud to offer our services to one patient group which is often at a severe disadvantage in the public but also the private health sector.
Our Hungarian partner clinic, the German Dental Center (GDC), can treat Special Needs Patients, i.e. mentally or physically challenged persons of all age groups and the owners have decided to make these additional, specialised dental services available to Ultimate Dental Travel’s patients.
Special Needs Patients of nearly all types of disabilities (including Down Syndrome, Autism, HADD, Acquired Brain Injury etc) who are able to live in a domestic environment, can be given first class dental care at the GDC’s state of the art facilities, provided that their GP/consultant has issued a certificate, declaring the patient suitable for travel and general anaesthetic.
A purpose built, modern clinic in Budapest
Dr Nóra-Katalin Fazekas of the GDC takes a special interest in and has much empathy for high-risk patients, disabled persons and children, and has accumulated a wealth of experience in the treatment of those patient groups, also under general anaesthesia. The wheelchair accessible, modern clinic provides a spacious, calm, unhurried and pleasant environment.
Importantly, it incorporates a purpose-built, fully equipped operating suite consisting of theatre, patient changing room and recovery room. Oral treatment or surgery takes place in a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. For superior diagnostics, the GDC also benefits from a mobile digital x-ray unit which allows for diagnostics to take place once the patient is anaesthetised, thus reducing any possible anxiety.
The GDC’s consultant anaesthetist specialises in gentle anaesthesia of all patient groups – from infants to the elderly, from “mere” anxiety patients and the non-compliant to physically or intellectually disabled persons. In the unlikely event of any unforeseen circumstances, the GDC can avail of the extremely competent back-up of the state of the art AEK Military Hospital, Budapest’s “VIP” hospital for Hungarian members of government, and which treated the Formula 1 driver Felipe Massa’s skull fracture following his accident during the Hungarian Grand Prix in July 2009.
What Ultimate Dental Travel can do for you:
We at Ultimate Dental Travel can assist you in planning and organising your dental trip to Budapest, usually even at short notice. Please contact us with your individual enquiries – we are dealing with every Special Needs Patient on an individual, case-by-case basis. The more preliminary information you can give us, the more detailed the advice from our dentists, based on which you would then make your decision whether travelling to Budapest is a solution to your or your charge’s dental problems.
Wheelchair accessible hotels with free taxi transfers
We have wheelchair accessible partner hotels with triple rooms if required, and we’re passing our corporate discounts fully on to our patients. When choosing one of our partner hotels, you will receive complimentary taxi transfer between airport, hotel and clinic, if required in a vehicle suitable for wheelchairs.
Instant, highest quality special needs dental treatment
Most importantly, the Special Needs Patient will receive instant treatment of the highest quality, instead of joining our long domestic waiting lists. Also, prices are substantially lower than in Ireland or Great Britain.
Located in Hungary, the GDC can of course not accept the Irish Medical Card or its British equivalent, but due to the much lower treatment cost payable in Budapest, you may be able to come to a financial arrangement with the HSE, NHS or indeed your private health insurance company, if the patient is covered under a Dental Plan. Irish Tax Relief is available under current legislation at 20% for qualifying treatments. More information on dental tax relief can be found here.
Please contact us to discuss your individual requirements.
