>> DENTURES ABROAD
If several teeth have been lost over the course of time, the preparation of dental crowns and bridges is often no longer feasible. Although replacement of teeth by dental implants is by far the medically superior method, due to implants reducing or even eliminating bone loss, we respect that some patients prefer to have dentures made for purely budgetary reasons.
Full dentures and partial dentures are a low-cost way of restoring or preserving the lost chewing function when there are no or few remaining teeth in the patient’s mouth.
Synthetic teeth are combined with gum-coloured components, and the denture is anchored in place using secure fittings to the remaining dentition. Depending on the remaining teeth’s condition, different types of dentures are used. If no natural teeth are left, dentures can be supported by a small number of implants.
Full and partial dentures are removable, need to be cleaned twice daily, can be rather uncomfortable to wear and can lead to pressure sores and increased bone loss in the jaw unless they are regularly relined. Therefore, dentures are considered old-fashioned, since all of the problems mentioned here can be avoided by using modern implant technology.
