>> DENTAL IMPLANTS ABROAD
Dental Implants are artificial roots that are implanted in the patient’s jaw bone in order to replace missing teeth. This is done in a relatively simple minor surgical procedure that is performed under sterile conditions under local anaesthesia. Implants can differ in size, shape and material used.
A Dental implant can look, feel and perform just like a natural tooth. Implants can also be used to support a bridge or denture. After a healing period of approx. 3 months, an abutment is fitted which ensures a secure fit between the dental implant and the topping crown, which finishes the tooth restoration.
Dental implants have been successfully used for over 40 years. Today, implants are made of Titanium or Zirconium. Titanium is a metal well accepted by the body and with excellent bone-bonding properties. Zirconium implants are a popular alternative with patients suffering from metal allergies.
Implants offer many benefits such as superior aesthetics and cosmetic appearance; the ability to chew without pain or gum irritation; and – very importantly from a medical point of view – the reduction or elimination of bone loss commonly associated with the loss of teeth.
