>> COMPOSITE FILLINGS ABROAD
Smaller cavities in a tooth often only require dental fillings. Today’s fillings are white in colour and therefore aesthetically pleasing. They are manufactured chairside by the dentist from dental resin to which wear-resistant ceramic granules are added.
An alarming number of Irish and British patients present at our partner clinics with – sometimes relatively recent – amalgam (i.e. silver coloured) fillings, despite the known fact that amalgam fillings can leach toxic mercury into the patients mouth.
Mercury exposure is widely recognised as a potential cause of chronic illnesses, autoimmune disorders, oral lesions etc. For that reason, amalgam fillings are no longer approved for use in a number of European countries. Our dentists strongly recommend to have such potentially toxic fillings replaced with white composite fillings or inlays.
The price of composite fillings depends on the size of the cavity.
