>> DENTAL crowns ABROAD
Dental Crowns are used when the tooth cannot be preserved any more by using fillings, due to too much destruction. An artificial crown won’t only restore the natural tooth’s aesthetic appearance, more importantly it will replace the damaged substance of the tooth and guard it against further decay.
Crowns can be manufactured out of a variety of materials:-
- Noble metal such as gold: Gold is one of the oldest filling materials. Today it is used with other metal alloys to increase its strength, which makes it a very hardwearing restoration. Disadvantages are the varying price of gold and the artificial-looking, coloured result.
- “Fused crowns” have a ceramic outer layer (facing), bonded to a Nickel-free metal. This Nickel-free metal carries only a very low allergy risk. Because these crowns are likened to the neighbouring teeth in colour and form, they will look very natural.
- For particularly high aesthetic requirements (therefore usually chosen for the treatment of front teeth) and for those patients who suffer from metal allergies, we offer the opportunity to have crowns manufactured from full ceramics. The material (Zirconium) is slightly translucent, just like a tooth and has therefore a particularly natural appearance.
